Facebook Starts Testing Dark Mode for Its Mobile Apps

Facebook is adding new features to its app. Facebook begins testing dark mode for its mobile apps in both IOS and Android. Currently, it is not available for everyone. A few people have access to this feature.

Already Facebook had added dark mode to its desktop website and facebook’s messenger. Also, Facebook rolled out dark mode to facebook’s owned company WhatsApp in March 2020.

App researcher Jane Manchun Wong exposed that Facebook is starting to test dark mode for its mobile apps. She shared this in a tweet. She also attached a video to show the interface of dark mode.

Unfortunately, the dark mode of Facebook is not accessible to everyone yet. But it will be available publically very soon.

How To Enable Dark Mode On The Facebook App?

The only way to enable dark mode on the Facebook app is to access its dark mode. To check that, have you access to the dark mode? Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Facebook app on your smartphone.
  2. Make sure that you have installed the latest version of the Facebook app.
  3. Tap on three horizontal lines on the upper right corner.
  4. Go to Setting & Privacy.
  5. Enable dark mode.

Suppose you are part of Facebook’s dark mode test. You will find the dark mode button in between Your Time on Facebook and App Language in Settings & Privacy. After enabling Dark mode, Facebook asks to do some settings. For example, you have options to enable Dark mode automatically according to your smartphone’s settings. If you go dark, the dark mode will enable automatically.

Or it can be set according to your time zone. It will enable it at night, and in the day, it will disable automatically if you don’t see the dark mode option in the settings. It means you are not part of testing, and you don’t have access to dark mode yet. But don’t worry, very soon, you will be able to use this useful feature on Facebook.
